Sibilance Killer

What is Sibilance :

  • A coloration that resembles or exaggerates the vocal s-sound (taken from http://www.soundvideo.com)
  • Sound systems with excessive treble response will over-emphasize the "s" or "ch" sounds and produce a hissing sound (taken from www.hotdrum.org/glossary-terms/terminology-8.shtml )

Play track 3 – fly me to the moon - from Susan Wong Album 'Close to You' in your car , and listen ..

If the sexy vocal of Susan Wong hurt your ear (specially when the vocal “s” sound) then you need a sibilance killer for your tweeter.

To determine Resistor value, use the following :

1.25 * tweeter impedance

Example if tweeter impedance 4 ohms or 8 ohms:

1.25 * 4 ohms = 5 ohms (using 5 watt resistor )

1.25 * 8 ohms = 10 ohms (using 5 watt resistor )

Capasitor value are 20 Microfarads
